About the role
You will join the core payments team responsible for settlement, reconciliation and payouts.
We run a Java 21 and Spring Boot stack on MySQL and Kafka, deployed to Kubernetes. The team owns its services end to end, from design review through on-call.
What you will do
- Design, build and operate REST APIs used by internal and partner systems
- Improve p99 latency and reliability of the settlement pipeline
- Write design docs and take part in architecture reviews
- Share the on-call rotation for services you own
What we are looking for
- 2+ years building backend services with Java and Spring Boot
- Strong SQL fundamentals and experience with schema design
- Comfortable with Kafka or a similar message broker
- Good written communication — we work design-doc first
